Cartoon 703: No Climate Change

Our political system can never work in today’s world. People are easily swayed by every wind of doctrine. They have been anesthetized by sound bites of the media. The media is controlled by Wall Street. Wall Street is the bastion of the rich and powerful.  They can orchestrate the nomination of political candidates and pull the strings on the demise of elected officials that fail to do their bidding. America is an “unus” party system. It really has only one party. The illusion of a two party system is due to the divergence of votes rallying under their banners. But both parties have a single real constituency, Wall Street.

In the last couple on months we have witnessed winter weather not seen in decades. Wall Street, through its henchmen are using this as a cry to deny global warming, and by proxy, climate change. Why is Wall Street so adamant on fighting even the concept of climate change? Wall Street makes its money from the movement of money. The Financial Crisis is a case in point. When credit dried up, no money was moving and Wall Street panicked. Profits could be made. If you admit climate change, massive amounts of money will be pulled out of circulation and be tied up in measures to offset climate change. Wall Street profits will be affected.

We have become a nation of intellectual vegetables. What causes weather? It has three main factors, the amount of sunlight, ocean and air currents. If there is a variance in these factors weather acts in unusual ways. If glaciers are melting all over the world, less light is being reflected into space. The land heats up and the oceans. The ocean and air currents are affected. Artic air may come further south or a cold front move out over the sea picking up moisture.  This is a case where global warming created a colder condition in one part of the world.

An astute public would know abnormal conditions are an indication of climate change.
