Americans have come to face-to-face with how they stack up in the world from education to broadband speeds. The message is America is not superior. All the less than stellar indicators have generated a cultural psychosis in America, particularly for the “white” population. Politicians have seized on this angst and are profiting “American Exceptionalism”. They are saying Americans [whites] are special. They in no way mean Americans are uniquely superior in the world, even though there are those that choose to believe this is what they are saying.

The message is crafted for the votes of the larger segment of America [whites] feeling they are increasingly being disenfranchised. The politicians are telling the voters, that in American society, they have a privileged position. It places them at the head of the line in this nation. There is a subtext to this message that is largely loss on the audience. The privileged they speak of are the well off. Everyone else by economic class is to some degree a serf.
