What travesty could be greater? Could anything be worst than endowing an apathetic inanimate entity power over the living? Yet during the Gilead Age the rich and powerful were able to orchestrate this legal position for corporations. It removed real accountability for actions to some nebulous monstrosity. We have been paying the price every since.

How many people have been indicted over the financial collapse? The financial collapse was the actions of people in corporations. An analogy might be taking an assault weapon and shooting down people. When law enforcement shows up you tell the authorities they must blame the weapon and walk away. An exasperated law enforcement looks on as you holster the weapon and walk away, for now.

A web of legality encloses business. The judicial interpretation of laws affecting them is based on, “the letter”. If the law does not specifically address that exact nuanced circumstance it is not enforced. This allows corporations to get away with all sorts of crimes. The more reasonable approach would be judicial interpretations based on “the spirit” of the law or its intent, along with disavowing corporations as legal entities unto themselves.

But that would mean the jails will fill up over night with “white collar” criminals. Where would our political candidates get most of their funding?
