Cartoon 832: The Word

Sometimes when you are told something from an early age you never stop to analyze it. You simply file it away as an axiom.

A couple questions would have popped up had I just heard the story about the Ten Commandments. If god wrote guidelines, he fully expected them to be delivered. Moses throwing down the guidelines would decidedly not sit well with god. It would be gross disobedience.

The second thing is that Moses supposedly crafted the Ten Commandments from the original word of god he destroyed. How good was his memory or understanding of the original word of god? I doubt what he wrote was every "jot and tittle”. Moses being human probably made changes.

Perhaps it was Moses’ disobedience with the Word that denied him the Promise Land.
