Cartoon 862: Money

We have witnessed how money has captured America politics and initiatives. The intent is the Gilead Age. Money has captured the Supreme Court, Federal and local judgeships, the Congress and beguiled the Executive Branch. This money has one purpose, to increase the power and wealth of the very rich.

For over seventy years American government has failed to invest in infra structure. The private arena is not the answer focused on profits. Now even our weather forecasting has fallen behind and the infra structure failing. You would think it is an obvious investment by Congress. Especially with a specter of climate change. Wrong! We are now behind the European Union and Britain. They actually did a better job of forecasting hurricane Sandy according to the Economist Magazine.

We are in the age where gratuities for a new stadium out weight public education funding. It is a time when the labor force has no leverage with business, therefore the stagnant and falling wages and benefits. It is a time when sound bites on media monopolies can herd people like lemmings over the cliff into the unreal.

Disproportional wealth in the hands of the few is not in the interests of a nation or its people. Inevitably there will be a disastrous reckoning.
