It is amazing how the wealthy have cawed themselves back into a new Gilead Age. The visible result is their fantastic wealth and the enormous income inequality that exists today.

Their power and wealth rests on the financial prowess of the businesses and industries they largely own through investments. There are several tents to their business success. First eliminate all competition. Next remove or make certain regulation does not happen. Finally own the people that run the branches of government.

We see their power using questionable legality interpretations to block competition or disruptive inventions. We see it with the short term gains initiated by activist investors. We see it in the constant rise and denial of real inflation while real income declines. We see it in how the tax money goes to support their position. If we follow the money, we also see it in our foreign policy actions.

Practices that are the accepted norm today would not be admissible a 100 years ago. Should they be allowed today?
