Cartoon 884: Referendum

The Republican political strategist all know the numbers add up for a Republican president. Therefore you have lots of candidates trying to win the nomination lottery.

How do the numbers add up? First, through rallying their fervent base to vote. Second, capture the potential cross over voters. Most people over 50 have an innate conservative nature. The Republicans just need to tap it.

The ranks of disaffection voters over their conservative issues is growing.

One group of potential cross over voters is Afro Americans. Afro Americans voting Republican will increase because of their conservative issues. The primary voting demographic of Afro Americans is over fifty and trends religious. They are vocally anti-gay, passively anti immigration, very anti abortion and strongly in defense of marriage. They feel as attacked by recent events as their White counterparts.

In the 2000 Presidential election the Republican Party successfully marginalized the Afro American vote through the pulpit. They made voting for the opposition party appear an ungodly act. Therefore numbers of people did not vote and others switched and voted Republican.

The Republican strategy is to appear to lose as many divisive issue battles as possible. Then orchestrate instilling the election as a potential jeopardy to their voter principles. The anticipated result will be a voter surge for a Republican win of the war for President.

What could go wrong?
