Cartoon 885: Consequences

Men sometime embark on what some people refer to as their second childhood. They might try “A Last Tango in Paris” or sexual escapades with a decidedly younger woman or girl. Sometimes they are more than thirty years their junior.

I imagine each of Rupert Murdoch’s recent wives hoped their marriage would out live him. No such luck. He had prenuptial agreements. But even with a prenuptial agreement there are ways to get significant modifications if you are still married upon their death. The best approach is to have a child. Older men with older grown children and a lot of money specifically forbid this.

But a woman can always say, “oops” and not let him know until after the third trimester. If he tries to insist something be done, she can threaten to turn it in to a media event. This could be devastating, since most of the very wealthy are Republicans and depend on that network for political favors. Interestingly Rupert’s last wife had twins. Fertility enhancements? It is also interesting she was dumped coincident with the execution of his succession plan. The new children complicate desires of control in a financial empire after death.

With these much older men the women sometimes end up with two droolers.
