Cartoon 909: ‘of course we’re racist’

How much is how the story is told?

Have you ever heard of Doctor Charles Richard Drew (June 3, 1904 – April 1, 1950)? He was a Canadian educated American physician and medical researcher. He was also African American. He researched the field of blood transfusions. He developed improved techniques for blood storage. He applied his expert knowledge to developing large-scale blood banks early in World War II. This allowed medics to save thousands of lives of the Allied forces. He resigned from the American Red Cross because of its practice of segregating blood in America.

Texas is removing references to the adversity of slavery from its education system. In the mostly Blue State of Maryland at least one county is making no reference to slavery in Colonial times. History is easily rewritten and the truth lost.
